Dear Parent(s),
Admissions for 2025/26: Our deadline for applications is the 28th February. All late applications will be dealt with in accordance with our Admissions Policy. Please see school website for more information.
School Closures: The school will close on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st February for Mid-Term Break. The school will close at 12pm on Friday 14th March to facilitate staff training. As per school calendar, the school will remain closed on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th March.
Children’s Mass: Our next children’s mass will take place this Saturday 15th February in St.Patrick’s Church, Drumkeen at 7.30pm. All are welcome to attend.
Peaceplus Programme: The school is participating in the Peaceplus Programme with Glenmaquin N.S. and Convoy Joint N.S. As part of this, all classes will enjoy ‘Ice-breaker’ sessions in Letterkenny Community Centre and gymnastics lessons with Citadel during Term 2. Permissions for all activities will be sent via Aladdin Connect.
Stay Safe Programme: All classes will complete the Stay Safe programme before the Easter break.Further information on sensitive areas will be sent to parents in each class group prior to the lessons. We encourage all parents to discuss these important issues with your children.
Credit Union Quiz: Well done our team of Caoimhe Coyle, Aoibhinn O’Donnell, Zara Gallagher and Sophie Kearns on placing 2nd in the B & S Credit Union Quiz last night in Jackson’s Hotel.
Say Yes to Languages: Pupils in 3rd-6th Class have started the ‘Say Yes to Languages’ programme. They will be learning French for 10 weeks.
Internet Safety Talk: Community Garda Brenda Healy visited senior classes yesterday to talk to the children about the importance of staying safe online.
Creative Cluster Programme: Pupils in 1st/2nd and 3rd Class have been enjoying STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) lessons in Term 2. They will have their final lesson tomorrow.
Book Fair: The Scholastic Book Fair will visit the school from Monday 3rd – Friday 7th March. Children will view the books from Mon-Thurs and payments will be taken on Friday 7th or can be made through the Aladdin App.
Sacrament Dates: Confirmation will take place on Sunday 2nd March @ 1pm in St. Mary’s Church, Convoy. First Confession will take place on Wednesday 2nd April @7pm- St. Patrick’s Church, Drumkeen. First Holy Communion will take place on Saturday 17th May at 11am in St. Patrick’s Church, Drumkeen.
Seachtain na Gaeilge: Beidh muid ag ceiliúradh Seachtain na Gaeilge ar 10ú – 14ú Márta. Beidh na páistí ag déanamh imeachtaí difriúil tríd an tseachtain. Beidh ‘Lá Glas’ ar 13ú Márta (Children to wear green).
School Opening Times: The school building opens at 9:10am to receive our pupils. Our official start time of the school day is 9:20am. We ask that all pupils are in school by 9:20am for morning activities.

Pupils from Junior Infants-3rd Class enjoyed a 6 week block of Rinka. Thank you to Eibhlin for delivering the programme and to our Parents Association for covering the cost of this.

Christmas Performance: Our Carol Service will take place tomorrow Wednesday 18th December at 12:00pm in St. Patrick’s Church. Each classroom will showcase their talents with a variety of songs and music. All children are busy rehearsing and we look forward to seeing as many parents as possible on the day.
Christmas Draw: Our Christmas draw will take place in St. Patrick’s Hall, after our Carol Service. Tea/Coffee and refreshments will be provided and all are welcome to attend. We would like to thank our Parents Association for organising this and to everyone who provided generous sponsorship of prizes and purchased lines.
Cinema Trip: All classes visited Eclipse Cinemas, Lifford on Monday to enjoy screenings of Moana 2 and Home Alone 2. A wonderful morning was had by all.
Christmas Jumpers: Pupils may wear their Christmas jumpers for tomorrow’s performance and for the rest of the week if they wish!
Food Drive: Our Student Council are accepting donations for their food drive in aid of St. Vincent de Paul until tomorrow, Wednesday. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far to this worthy cause.
Cycling: Pupils in 5th and 6th Class are taking part in cycling lessons every Wednesday for 4 weeks, concluding Wednesday 15th January. We would like to thank our Parents Association for covering the cost of this.
Christmas Holidays: School Closes this Friday 20th December at 12:00pm and reopens on Monday 6th January 2025 at 9.10am.
