Anti-Bullying Week

We held our anti-bullying week on 11th-15th November. All pupils were asked to colour in or design an anti-bullying poster. These will be displayed around our school. Pictured are the winners from each class. Well done to all!

November Newsletter

Dear Parent(s),

Sportshall: Well done to our 18 pupils from 3rd-6th Class who travelled to the Finn Valley Centre on Monday 11th November to take part in the Regional Sportshall Competition. We placed 3rd  school against some tough competition. Well done to all involved.

Heritage Programme: On Friday 15th November we welcomed John D. Ruddy to the school as part of the Heritage in Schools programme. He visited all classes bringing history topics to life in a fun and engaging manner.

Creative Cluster: Pupils in Ms. Haughey’s and Ms. McGlinchey’s rooms are taking part in the Creative Cluster project. This year’s theme is STEM (science, technology, engineering, maths). They had their first session on Monday 4th November where they made lighthouses with a real, working bulb!

Carol Service: Reminder that our Carol Service will take place on Wednesday 18th December at 12:00pm in St. Patrick’s Church. Parents Association Christmas raffle will take place in the parish hall afterwards with tea/coffee.

Cinema Trip: All classes will travel to Eclipse Cinemas, Lifford on Monday 16th December. Junior pupils will watch ‘Moana 2’ and senior pupils ‘Home Alone 2’. Payment for this can be made via Aladdin or to the office.

School Closure: Our school will be closed tomorrow, Friday 29th November due to the election.

Rinka & Ukulele: Ukelele continues for 3rd-6th Class pupils on Thursdays and Rinka for Junior Infants-3rd Class.

Bad Weather: Whilst every effort will be made to ensure that the school is open, in severe weather, school closures will be announced via Aladdin on the morning of the closure. Please assume the school is open unless you are informed otherwise.

Healthy Eating: Our Healthy Eating policy is available to view on the school website. We would ask not to have crisps, sweets, bars/cereal bars, corner yoghurts with chocolate/sweetened pieces or fizzy drinks in lunchboxes. Friday is our treat day where children may bring in one small treat.

Drop off/Pick Up: We remind parents to use the one – way system, around the back of the hall and drop off when driving along the school wall or at the school gate. Please be mindful not to block the entrance to the back of the hall if parking at collection times.
