Admissions for 2026/27: Our deadline for applications was 13^th February. All late applications will be dealt with in accordance with our Admissions Policy. Letters of offer will be sent to those who have already applied.                                            

SSE Community Fund: We would like to acknowledge and thank SSE Renewables Meentycat and Culliagh Community Fund for the grant awarded for an upgrade to our school’s lighting. Work will be carried out over the Easter break.

Credit Union Quiz: Well done to 5^th Class pupils Conor Ward, Caiden Bonner, Ruairí Crossan and Edward Harkin who competed in the Ballybofey and Stranorlar Credit Union Quiz on Monday 9^th February. The team placed 5^th overall.  

Internet Safety Talk: Garda Brenda Healy visited senior classes on Tuesday 10^th February to speak to the pupils about safe internet use. This was part of Internet Safety Week.

St. Brigid Cross Making: Thank you to everyone who came along on Thursday 29th January to help with St Brigid’s Cross making. It was lovely to see so many people giving their time and sharing their skills. The children really enjoyed taking part and learning about this important tradition.

Sportshall Athletics: Well done to our 4 teams, made up from pupils in 3^rd-6^th Class, who took part in the Sportshall Athletics Competition on Tuesday 24^th February in St. Columba’s College, Stranorlar. They represented the school with pride in a variety of relay, jumping and throwing events. Our 3^rd and 4^th Class girls’ team have qualified for the county final to be held in March. A fantastic achievement!

Peaceplus Activities: All classes are travelling to Citadel Gymnastics for 4 weeks along with Glenmaquin N.S. and Convoy Joint N.S. Lessons will conclude on 11^th March for JI-3^rd and on 2^nd March for 4^th-6^th. Pupils may wear their own, comfortable clothing on these days.

Book Fair: The Scholastic book fair will take place during the week of 2^nd March. A variety of books and stationery will be available for pupils to purchase.

Sacraments: Confirmations will take place in St. Mary’s Church, Convoy on Sunday 1st March at 1pm. We extend our best wishes to our nine 6^th Class pupils as they receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit on this special and significant occasion in their faith journey. Confessions for all 6^th Class pupils will take place on Friday during school time. First Confession to take place in St. Patrick’s Church, Drumkeen on Tuesday April 21st at 7pm.  First Holy Communions take place in St. Patrick’s Church, Drumkeen on Saturday May 16th at 11am.  Service of Light took place on Thursday 12th February at 7pm in St. Patrick’s Church. Thank you to Fr. Kelly for a lovely ceremony. Confirmation pupils visited St. Eunan’s Cathedral on Thursday 12th February along with Confirmation pupils from Convoy and Raphoe. Thank you again to Fr. Kelly for the informative, guided tour of the cathedral.

School Closures: The school will close Friday 13^th March to facilitate staff training in the new Primary Curriculum Framework. As per school calendar, the school will remain closed on Monday 16^th and Tuesday 17^th March. School closes on Friday 27^th March at 12pm for the Easter Holidays and will reopen on Monday the 13^th April.

School Opening Times: The school building opens at 9:10am to receive our pupils. Our official start time of the school day is 9:20am. We ask that all pupils are in school by 9:20am for morning activities.

On Tuesday 24th February, our 3rd–6th Class boys and girls proudly represented our school at the Regional Sportshall Athletics Competition. All pupils showed fantastic enthusiasm, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day and were a credit to the school. A special congratulations to our 3rd and 4th Class Girls team who performed brilliantly and have qualified for the County Final. We are very proud of all our athletes and wish the girls the very best in the next stage of the competition.

Thank you to Finn Valley AC coaches for visiting our school and allowing the children to try out some sportshall activities in preparation for our upcoming competition on 24th February.

Congratulations to our fantastic quiz team who proudly represented our school at the Ballybofey & Stranorlar Credit Union Quiz on Monday, 9th February.

The children really enjoyed taking part and learning about this important tradition. It is always nice to keep traditions like this alive and pass them on to the next generation.

We really appreciate the support of everyone who helped make the day so enjoyable.

Our school’s VEX Robotics team took part in a competition at ATU on 16th January, competing alongside teams from other schools. Throughout the event, the students demonstrated excellent teamwork, respect and positive attitudes.

In recognition of this, the team was proudly awarded the Sportsmanship Award. This achievement reflects the strong values and commitment shown by our students, both in competition and in conduct.

Congratulations to all involved on this well-deserved award.

School Closures: The school will close on Monday 2^nd February for the Bank Holiday, Thursday 19^th and Friday 20^th February for Mid-Term Break. The school will also close Friday 13^th March to facilitate staff training. As per school calendar, the school will remain closed on Monday 16^th and Tuesday 17^th March.

Cross Making: Children in 2^nd-6^th Class will be making St. Brigid’s crosses in the hall on Thursday 29^th January at 10.30am (after morning mass). We would like to invite any parents, grandparents and community members who would be available to join and help with this. Tea/coffee and refreshments will be provided. We would also be very grateful for bags of rushes. These can be dropped to the school before Thursday.

Peaceplus Programme: The school is participating in the Peaceplus Programme with Glenmaquin N.S. and Convoy Joint N.S. As part of this, all classes will enjoy gymnastics sessions in Citadel, Letterkenny for 4 weeks. Permissions and dates for this have been sent out via Aladdin Connect.        

VEX Robotics: Well done to our 5^th and 6^th Class pupils who took part in the VEX Robotics competition in the ATU on Friday 16^th January. The pupils have been working on their robot since November and enjoyed getting the chance to collaborate with other schools in this fantastic event. They were delighted to receive the ‘Sportsmanship Award’ for their efforts and teamwork.                               

Say Yes to Languages: This term,pupils in 5^th and 6^th Class will take part in the ‘Say Yes to Languages’ programme. They will be learning French for 8 weeks.

School Uniform: Our school uniform policy was recently updated by the Board of Management. Our uniform consists of bottle green jumper/cardigan with school crest, yellow polo shirt and dark grey trousers/tracksuit bottoms/skirt/pinafore. Tracksuit bottoms with stripes/logos are not permitted. Plain grey bottoms can be purchased from Dunnes Stores, Next etc. Please ensure all jumpers are clearly labelled with your child’s name. Full school uniform should be worn at all times unless otherwise specified. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

Dear Parent(s),

Christmas Performance: Our Christmas Concert will take place tomorrow, Thursday 18^th December, at 12:00pm in St. Patrick’s Hall. Each classroom will perform a Christmas themed play. All children are busy rehearsing and we look forward to seeing as many parents as possible on the day.

Christmas Draw: Our Christmas draw took place in St. Patrick’s Hall on Tuesday 16^th December. We would like to thank our Parents Association for organising this and to everyone who provided generous sponsorship of prizes and purchased lines. All prize winners have been contacted. Please see list below. The total amount raised was 1,240 euros!

Santa Visit: We had a special visit from Santa Claus on Wednesday. Each child received a selection box. Thank you to our Parent’s Association for providing these and also for the post concert chocolate lollipops.

Cinema Trip: As part of the Peaceplus programme,all classes visited Eclipse Cinemas, Lifford last Wednesday 10^th December to enjoy screenings of The Grinch, Zootropolis 2 and Home Alone. A wonderful morning was had by all.

Christmas Jumpers: Pupils may wear their Christmas jumpers this Thursday and Friday, 18^th and 19^th December.

Food Drive: Our Student Council organised a food drive in aid of St. Vincent de Paul. There was a fantastic response. Thank you to everyone who donated to this worthy cause and to community members Johnny Haughey and Kirsten Patton for their help.

Christmas Holidays: School Closes this Friday 19th December at 12:00pm and reopens on Monday 5^th January 2026 at 9.10am.
